I would like to relate the actions of the organelles to an offensive side of a football team; specifically what is referred to as the ‘pocket’. The three that I have chosen to do this with are the Nucleus, the Nuclear membrane and the Endoplasmic Reticulum. The nucleus controls the activity in the cell like a quarterback controls what happens in the pocket. While playing the Nuclear Membrane controls what enters and exits the cells, just like the offensive line do when protecting the quarterback in the pocket. Finally the Endoplasmic Reticulum which is involved movement throughout the cell is like the running back that moves the ball around within the pocket. These associations help me remember what the organelles do within the cell.
